It’s an Antique Sterling Silver Sherry Decanter Label from the mid 1800s. It would be a fantastic label to hang around the neck of a sherry bottle or decanter.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt comes in a presentation gift box and would be a great present.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1844. The maker’s marks are a little worn but are most likely to be TLP.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe label is beautifully ornate with grapes, foliage and a bearded man’s face very cleverly hidden in the lovely design. It has Sherry in the centre and the maker’s marks and hallmarks on the back and an elegant chain to hang it on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eCondition\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Sterling Silver is shiny with a bit of patina which helps to show the design well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eSize\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt weighs 8g.
