It would be a lovely birthday gift for someone born in 1977 or as a collectors item.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1977 Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Silver Jubilee which was 25 years on the throne, and The Royal Mint marked the occasion by producing a commemorative crown.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne side of the coin featured a portrait of the Queen in Guards uniform and on horseback, which was similar to the design of the 1953 Coronation crown. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe other side has an eagle along with a ceremonial spoon which was used to anoint the sovereign at the coronation. The  design also shows the Crown and flowers of the United Kingdom.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe coin was designed by Arnold Machin, the sculptor most famous for his portrait of the Queen that appeared on coins from 1968.
