It has shiny silver sides and four beautifully shaped feet. The lid lifts to show a lightly gilded inside and black material base.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe hallmarks and maker’s mark are on the front of the box but are a bit worn. It was most likely made by J \u0026amp; R Griffin and was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1920.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe hinge works well. The silver is shiny with a number of small dents to the sides and lids. The material inside is not original and while the base is currently fixed in place inside it is not totally secure. This wouldn’t affect its use but has been taken into account when pricing. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe total weight is 183g.It measures 10.1cm by 8cm (4 inches by 3 1\/8 inches).
