It would be perfect for serving sauces, milk, cream or gravy on special occasions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was made by Robert Jones II and it was Hallmarked in London in 1796. The hallmarks are below the lip at the front of the jug.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe jug is very much the Georgian style of the late 1700s and early 1800s. The Silver is shiny with an elegant handle at the back. The interior has had a gold wash to it but most of this has worn away.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne side of the jug has a number of dots and quite a few scratches where someone has removed an etching which was probably a coat of arms or an emblem. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou can see the join where the handle has been attached to the jug at the top from when the jug was made which adds to its authenticity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIts quite heavy, weighing 150.5g.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt measures 8cm in height to the centre of the jug (just over 3 inches).\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Beeches Vintage","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47150019182935,"sku":"","price":290.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0780\/9135\/4455\/products\/antique-georgian-sterling-silver-milk-or-sauce-jug-hallmarked-1796-5442-p.jpg?v=1746184215","url":"https:\/\/www.beechesvintage.com\/products\/antique-georgian-sterling-silver-milk-or-sauce-jug-hallmarked-1796","provider":"Beeches Vintage","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
