It was designed to slice fruit such as apples and pears and is a great collector’s item. It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present for a birthday or anniversary.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe blade is made of Sterling Silver and the handle is beautifully smooth Mother of Pearl which shows all the lovely layers and textures Pearl has. It has a blank oval cartouche on one side and the blade folds neatly back into the handle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was made by William Morton and Sons and it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1927. The makers mark and hallmarks are on one side of the blade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe silver blade is shiny with quite a lot of scratches which can be seen in the photos. The blade is a little curved in a couple of places and the very tip is missing but this shouldn’t affect its use.
